Ioannis Dimitrousis S/S11

Six gorgeous pieces from the inner workings of Greek designer Ioannis Dimitrousis appear before you. Ioannis displayed these unique gems during London Fashion Week within the neo-classical confines of Somerset House. Each piece is intricately established, creating silhouettes that are both flattering and exceptional. The collection was inspired by the poem Balladyna – a beautiful piece of Polish romantic literature, which focuses on themes of power, passion, and destiny. The individual garments are inherently stunning and ultimately very singular -So much so, that the designer assigned different names to each one. The red dress is called Fon Konstryn, the Black dress -Goplana, The pink catsuit - Kirkor, The pink dress - Alina, The green bodysuit – Skierka, and the grey dress – Balladyna. ABOUT THE DESIGNER: Ioannis Dimitrousis began designing at a very young age. He eventually moved from Greece to London, where he attended and graduated from London College of Fashion. Although his focus was on menswear in the beginning of his career, Ioannis later moved into genderless design, and soon thereafter began incorporating design for women. Most of Dimitrousis’ work is handcrafted, yet very refined. This is due in part to his mother who constructs all of his crochet and hand made pieces.
