Maxence Cyrin

So… for whatever reason, lately I’ve been really into piano covers- but good piano covers not the tacky ones that used to play at malls in the late 80’s/ early 90’s, or at your grandparent’s 50th wedding anniversary. -No. Piano covers that move me -so to speak. So I’ve been searching for some gems, and in my quest, I discovered French pianist, Maxence Cyrin. Not only does Maxence approach songs with understanding and sensitivity, he also has really excellent taste! He covers some of my favourite artists, and then pairs his songs with scenes from old films and such. Comme c’est romantique! Below are a few of his pieces I like best. P.S: If I ever were to get married (which is highly unlikely) I would very much like to have Mr. Cyrin cover the following: Slowdive - Here She Comes, Suicide – Cheree, and/or The Cure- Catepillar. AND: If I ever were to die (which is also unlikely) I would want the following played by Mr. Cyrin at my funeral: Spritualized- Shine a Light, Hole- Miss World, and/or Electrolite – REM (but slowed down). Yeah. Something like that.
