Jonna Lee is responsible for putting out music in the same vein as cupcake artists like Kate Nash and Amy McDonald. But in March of 2010, she started releasing a mysterious thread of ultra cool and beautiful videos on YouTube under the name iamamiwhoami. There was tons of speculation when the videos were released about the Swedish singer/songwriter and her involvement with the videos. Jonna’s management completely denied any knowledge of her affiliation with the thread of ‘viral marketing’ vids, although it’s pretty clear to me that this is in fact the same woman who sang repetitive Swedish pop songs, and bounced around wearing mediocre outfits (check out her video for ‘My High’ –worlds apart from the stuff you’ll see above). In these new videos, Jonna gives you a sound reminiscent of Kate Bush, with a twist of Fever Ray. The only mystery here is if she is the brains behind these magnificent ‘viral’ treasures. I really hope she is.
