I dove way under the radar and discovered this little treasure. German band Ja Ja Ja (German for yes yes yes) was part of the New German Wave movement (also known as Neue Deutche Welle -NDW for short), which was heavily influenced by the punk and new wave movements of the early 80's. Ja Ja Ja released their first 7" Katzrap in 1982, and soon followed that with an untitled LP. Singer Julie Jigsaw, Bassist/Guitarist Wien Wito, and drummer Frank Samba put together some really cutefuncrazygood tracks on said LP. Including my personal favourites 'Mom,' 'Katz Rap,' and 'I am an Animal.' Unfortunately, the band's success was short lived due to the german music industry's demand for more mainstream, manufactured bands. Tis a shame. I thoroughly enjoy this band, and highly recommend them to anyone who has ever had an appreciation for punk, post punk, new wave, or any kind of music for that matter. Long live Ja Ja Ja!
