Erwin Blumenfeld

I take solace in knowing that there is endless amounts of beauty in this world, both tangible and intangible, and I admire and revere the people who capture it. People like German born / American-based photographer, Erwin Blumenfeld for example, have captivated the gazes and hearts of many over the course of his extensive career. What started out as Dadaist collages, soon turned into a career in fashion photography, mostly for Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. Blumenfeld also focused a great deal on his personal works which were done in black and white, (his films and commercial work were done in color). Erwin Blumenfeld had an incredibly innovative spirit, and an extremely impressive eye for classical and irregular beauty. His work is in a word: enchanting, and embodies all elements of creativity, ingenuity, and imagination. It's artists like Blumnenfeld, who pick me up, and pull me out of my gutter. Goodbye Grodeo Drive. Hello Hollygood Blvd!
