Viktor & Rolf A/W 2010

Viktor and Rolf have done it again. Literally. Their A/W 2010 collection which they titled ‘Glamour Factory,’ is suspiciously reminiscent of their ‘Russian Doll’ collection circa 1999. However, I think this collection makes up for any sort of repeat concept.

PICTURE IT: Model Kristen McMenamy walks out onto the runway as gracefully as possible, while wearing the whole entire collection on her bony back. Then, she is joined by designers Victor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren as they remove one garment at a time, and proceed to dress the other models. Each garment seemed to have a dual function. A cape transforms into a coat, A dress turns into a cape, A ball skirt evolves into an Elizabethan ruff that can only be described as ‘the most epic thing in life!’ After every garment is removed, McMenamy is left wearing a nude body suit, and the process is repeated, with Victor and Rolf re-dressing poor Kristen.

A feast for the eyes to say the least. This collection gets my applause. Bravo, V&R. You never cease to amaze me.
